Türkiye ile Irak arasında Savunma Sanayii İş Birliği (SSİB) Anlaşması, IDEF 15. Uluslararası Savunma Sanayii Fuarı’nda imzalandı. İmzalar Savunma Sanayii Başkanı Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir ile Irak Askeri Sanayileşme Kurulu Başkanı Mohamed Saheb Al-Daraji tarafından atıldı. Anlaşma, Türkiye ve Irak arasında iş birliğinin kurumsallaştırılarak iki ülke arasında savunma sanayii alanında gerçekleştirilecek faaliyetlerinin esaslarını kapsıyor. SSİB Anlaşması, tarafların güvenlik kuruluşlarının ihtiyacı olan her türlü savunma sanayi ürün ve hizmetinin doğrudan tedarikini, geliştirilmesini, üretilmesini, üçüncü taraflara satılmasını, envanterde bulunan sistem ve platformların bakım, idame ve modernizasyonu, teknoloji transferi, eğitim, bilgi ve belge alışverişini içeriyor.
